Introduction
TS Messenger™ is a network server application with a mobility client that connects
field users with enterprise email, calendar and task functions and provides
a flexible and highly reliable communications conduit between office and field staff.
While TouchStar’s Mobility Applications already contain messaging functionality
for direct supervisory staff, TS Messenger™ extends capability to a broader range
of office based users and customers and is designed to work with any TouchStar Mobility
Application.
TS Messenger™ broadens enterprise groupware infrastructure to include field workers one to one or broadcast communications. With TS Messenger™, a sales
manager could email a fleet of delivery drivers to remind customers of a promotional
deadline.
Features & Benefits
Simple drop-down custom smart messages and responses are the primary means of user
interface which minimizes typed data and error margin.
Office use relies on conventional email, task and appointment groupware which is
transparent to any mobility needs, excluding message length control. A mobility
address book provides user and group addresses with simplified controls.
Email, appointment and task activity is recorded and stored in the TS HyperDocs™
database. All field correspondence and TS Messenger™ activity can be electronically
and securely reproduced, eliminating paper based records.
System design uses enterprise email interface standards to ensure existing office infrastructure
remains free from any upgrade, patch or support constraints. The TS Messenger™ client
resides in the Springboard menu, the external of core mobility functionality, and
can be used at any time during an operator’s shift.
While TS Messenger™ is a self-contained and independent application, TouchStar’s
other Enterprise Applications can view messaging functions transparently. For example,
a transport manager may send a thank you note to a driver after reviewing favorable
Key Perfomance Indicator (KPI) reports via TS ReportPro™.
Policy limits on access, groups and users is managed through TS Messenger™ tables
to maintain specific role based access and mitigate unnecessary communication traffic.
Providing customers with field generated messaging is simple as TS Messenger™ utilizes
conventional email. A service technician can directly email a customer with service
visit results and a brief personal note.
TS Messenger™ is dually adaptive and supports batch based, end of shift or trip
methodology and wireless online real time communications.
